A brief history...
The Birth of Ajoupia
Ajoupia was founded on 26th October 2015, under the name of "The Kingdom of Ajoupia", by Yaroslav Davletshin. Ajoupia was found in hopes of building a perfect nation.
Renaming and the First Emperor
It was renamed to "The Most Magnificent Empire of Ajoupia" on 21st November 2015. The first Emperor was Yaroslav Davletshin.
Becoming a republic
On 6 January 2016, a referendum was hosted, whether Ajoupia should become a presidential republic. The majority of the citizens voted in favour.
Elections
An Election was hosted on 6th March 2016. Yaroslav Davletshin became the President.
Amendments to the Constitution
Throughout the year, multiple referendums were held concerning amendments to the Constitution.
Reforms to the Structure of Power
One of the major referendums was whether the Office of the Senate (the Legislative) be abolished and replaced with a different organ. The citizens voted in favour. However, there was a referendum on the issue of whether or not that organ (the Representative Committee) be abolished and a completely different system installed. The citizens voted in favour. The new system is that the President shall compose laws and for those laws to come in effect, they must be approved by the Supreme Court.
